This is the fourth year that our school has been involved in the Shared Education Signature Project (SESP) with St Oliver Plunkett Primary School in Beragh.
The teaching staff can work together to plan, teach and evaluate shared lessons covering a variety of curricular areas such as Literacy, Numeracy and The Arts. This enables teachers to share good practice and expertise, while at the same time allows our pupils to engage in a range of activities in mixed groupings and have opportunities to develop relationships and friendships.
This academic year shared education will involve pupils from nursery, foundation stage and key stage one. Our nursery pupils will focus on the curricular area of Personal, Social and Emotional Development, while pupils in years 1 to 4 will participate in a planned programme of work in Talking and Listening within the Literacy and Arts curriculum. Pupils will have the opportunity to meet and mix with their counterparts within their own school and the partnership setting.
At the end of the school and nursery academic year, pupils in each grouping will enjoy a shared trip.
