COOLEY PRIMARY SCHOOL
Cooley Primary School is a controlled school owned and maintained by the Education Authority. It is set on spacious grounds in a rural area on the outskirts of Sixmilecross village and just one mile from Beragh village.

The school was the result of an amalgamation of three smaller schools, Dervaghroy, Hutton & Sixmilecross. Cooley Primary School opened its doors to pupils in March 2005, while the nursery unit opened in September 2005.
Cooley Primary School admits girls and boys aged from 4 to 11 years. The primary school building has six bright and spacious classrooms all equipped with interactive boards, two resource areas, a multi-purpose hall, a library, a multi-purpose room, a staffroom, offices and a school meals kitchen. One resource area is well-equipped as a play area for younger pupils, while the other resource area houses the computer suite.

There is a large tarmac playground to the rear of the school, an adventure trail and grass football pitch all set amid grassy areas. There is also a woodland area which has been recently developed and over 200 trees have been planted around the perimeter of the grounds.
The Nursery Unit has a bright playroom, quiet room, utility, toilet & cloakrooms and a staffroom. The outside area has a mixture of soft surface, grass & pathways and outside storage. There is a playhouse, a retreat, a climbing frame and a fenced in sand-pit, as well as a digging area and marked out cycle areas.
