This term, during our Springtime on the Farm topic, the Heekin family kindly brought in their chickens for us to meet! The children were full of curiosity and excitement as they watched the chickens explore, listened carefully to all the interesting facts, and even had the chance to gently stroke them. We talked about how to care for animals, what chickens eat, where they live, and of course… where eggs come from! The children were wonderfully calm, caring, and respectful around our feathered friends. A huge thank you to the Heekin family for giving us such a memorable hands-on learning experience — there were lots of smiles, giggles, and excited chatter all afternoon!
